Dr. Stefan Schlagintweit attended the University
of British Columbia from 1974 until 1981. During
that time, he received his undergraduate training
and medical school education. He undertook a rotating
internship in South Africa from 1981 until 1982
after which he proceeded directly into the five
year specialist program in plastic surgery at
the Vancouver General Hospital from 1982 until
1987. Dr. Schlagintweit successfully completed
the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons examinations
in plastic surgery and was made a Fellow of the
Royal College of Surgeons of Canada in 1987.
Dr. Schlagintweit opened his plastic surgical
practice in Vancouver in 1987. In January of 1990,
he relocated his office to Abbotsford, British
Columbia. Dr. Schlagintweit continues to work
in a busy plastic surgical practice which consists
of general plastic and reconstructive surgery,
including children and adults. This includes seeing
elective and cosmetic surgery patients as well
as providing emergency coverage for victims of
trauma as applicable to plastic and
reconstructive surgery.
In response to the increasing demand for cosmetic
surgery, Dr. Schlagintweit continues to expand
his practice to accommodate the requests of his
patients for these services. He performs surgery
in private clinics as well as in area hospitals.
