In order to assist our patients with their search for information about cosmetic surgery, we have compiled a list of questions often asked. If you do not see your question listed here and you have a question about the surgeon, the facilities or any of the procedures performed, please feel free to contact us.

  1. Can Cosmetic Surgery be performed safely within the present Covid 19 environment?
    Our office and private clinic are dedicated to follow all current guidelines to ensure the health and safety of patients, staff, physicians and the community at large. Dr. Schlagintweit will discuss the risks and complications of the specific cosmetic procedure you are considering during your private consultation.
  2. How much does it cost for a consultation?
    Our fee for a surgical consultation is $100.00.
  3. How long is the consultation?
    Consultations take approximately 30-45 minutes. Multiple procedures require additional time for discussion.
  4. How long do I have to wait for a consultation?
    Consultations are booked within 2 to 3 weeks of your telephone call.
  5. How much does it cost to have surgery?
    Most procedures have a fixed price, however, the price of some surgeries may vary depending on the needs of the patient. Approximate costs are included below but at the time of your consultation, Dr. Schlagintweit will give you a quote outlining exactly how much your surgery will cost. Please note these approximate prices include surgical fees, clinic fees, anaesthesia fees, surgical supply fees (implants) and post operative care.

    Breast Surgery – $6000.00 – $14000.00
    Tummy Tuck – $7500.00 – $10000.00
    Face Lift – $12000.00 –  $15000.00
    Eyelid Surgery – $2000.00 – $6000.00
    Liposuction – $4500.00 – $8000.00
  6. How long do I have to wait for surgery?
    Cosmetic surgeries are booked within 2 to 3 weeks following your consultation.
  7. How long after the surgery before I can return to work?
    The recovery time varies from surgery to surgery. Frequently, the type of occupation a patient has will determine how long they will need to be away from work.
  8. How do I pay for my surgery?
    Payment may be made by cash, certified cheque, bank draft, e-transfer, money order or debit. For patients wishing to use their debit cards, it will be necessary for them to contact their financial institution and advise them of their upcoming purchase in order that the credit limit can be raised for the payment date.
  9. When do I have to pay for my surgery?
    Payment in full is required 3 weeks prior to the date of your surgery. If you are unable to proceed with your surgery following payment because of a medical or legal emergency, payment will be refunded.
  10. Do you have before and after pictures?
    Out of consideration for the confidentiality of our patients we do not publish before and after pictures on our website. We would be happy to show representative before and after pictures at the time of your private consultation.
  11. Can I speak to other patients who have had surgery?
    Yes, we can organize for you to make contact with patients who have undergone similar surgical procedures.
  12. Where do I go to have the surgery?
    Procedures requiring general anaesthetic are performed at the YES Private Surgical Facility at 301 – 8837 201 Street in Langley, BC. This is located adjacent to the 200th Street and Highway 1 Interchange. Procedures requiring local anaesthetic only are performed in the office in Abbotsford.
  13. Can I drive myself home after the surgery?
    No. You will need to have an escort (someone over the age of 19 years) with you who will drive you home.
  14. Will the surgery hurt?
    Surgery can be somewhat painful, but this will be controlled with medication.
  15. What are your office hours?
    Our office hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.
  16. When are surgery days?
    Surgery days vary each week in order to accommodate the various needs of our patients. As a general rule, no surgeries are booked on Mondays or Fridays unless no other time is available.
  17. Can I breast feed my children if I have a breast augmentation?
    In the majority of cases, this is not a problem.
  18. Do I have to lose weight before I have my tummy tuck?
    It is recommended that you have a stable weight before undergoing an abdominoplasty. A tummy tuck is not a procedure to achieve weight loss but rather offers correction of excess skin and fat in the abdominal region.
