| There
are many procedures designed to improve the
appearance of your breast size and shape.
The most popular procedures are breast augmentation
and mastopexy (breast lift). Information about
both of these procedures is offered below
and can be accessed using the "Next"

bottom of each screen. |

| Breast
augmentation is a cosmetic procedure performed
for the purpose of enlarging breasts. Patients
elect to have this surgery because they are
self conscious about their breast size and
shape. The surgery is designed to enhance
breast size to allow patients to fit into
clothing they would not normally prefer to
wear, such as strapless dresses and bathing
suits. The procedure is usually performed
on women between the ages 20 to 55 but there
are instances where the surgery is performed
on patients who are younger or older. The
surgery may be performed by placing the implants
under the muscles in the breast area or on
top of the muscles in this area. The incision
is sometimes made underneath the breast but
more commonly the incision is made in the
nipple area. In my practice, it is more common
to place the implant under the muscle. It
is our practice to perform breast augmentation
under general anaesthesia on a daycare surgical
basis. We currently use Mentor Cohesive I silicone gel breast implants. The implants are guaranteed
by Mentor for your natural life against any
defect or deflation. |
